When you contribute to the Charter Texas Political Action Committee (Charter Texas PAC) at the recommended contribution level, Charter Communications will make a matching charitable contribution (up to $1,000 per employee) to a food bank in your local area. This is a great way for you to double the benefit of your contribution to the Charter Texas PAC, build leadership, and help others at the same time. What is the PAC Match program?

Under the PAC Match program, Charter Communications will match your political contribution with a donation from the company to a local charity. The PAC Match Program is available to any Charter Communications employee who invests at the recommended contribution levels (outlined below) to the Charter Texas PAC.
Charter Communications will match a maximum charitable donation of up to $1,000 per year, per employee, to a food bank in the employee’s local area. The matching donation will be made directly to the local area food bank.

It is a non-profit, non-partisan political action committee registered with the Texas Ethics Commission and conforms to all applicable state elections laws. It accepts investments from eligible employees and, in the interest of the Charter Texas PAC and its members, uses these funds to support Texas candidates for elected offices.

The Charter Texas PAC allows us to support candidates and elected officials who understand and are supportive of our mission, business goals, and, most importantly, the best interests of our customers and employees.

In Texas, corporate campaign contributions are not allowed so the formation of a political action committee allows us to lend support to candidates and elected officials who share our industry’s legislative goals, and plays a role in the company’s overall government affairs strategy.

You can become a member of the Charter Texas PAC by making an investment through payroll deductions or as an annual one-time investment.

All Texas employees who are U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted permanent residents are eligible to contribute to the Charter Texas PAC.

The governmental affairs staff collaborates with our local offices across Texas to determine which candidates or elected officials to support. The Charter Texas PAC supports candidates and elected officials that support the telecommunications industry and who understand our issues.

Political contributions to candidates and elected officials are reported monthly to the Texas Ethics Commission and are public knowledge. You may also contact the Charter Texas PAC manager if you have any specific questions about how we invest your dollars.

Yes! Charter Communications pays for ALL operating costs of the Charter Texas PAC. Every penny of your investment is directed to assist candidates and elected officials in their political campaigns.

No. Due to the Tax Reform act of 1986, all investments to the Charter Texas PAC are not tax-deductible.

Any time you fill out a new Charter Texas PAC contribution authorization form, it will automatically override your previous one.

Children, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and working families are among those affected in every Texas county. For every $1 dollar contributed to a local food bank, four meals are provided to Texans most in need.

No. PAC Match contributions are made by Charter Communications. The corporation is allowed to incentivize PAC contributions by its members with matching charitable donations. Your PAC contributions are highly valued, and we want to ensure that each dollar contributed to the PAC goes to support political campaigns.

No. PAC Match is available to all PAC eligible employees who contribute at the recommended contribution levels. Your total PAC contribution will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,000 per year.

No. Neither your political contribution nor the company’s matching donation is tax deductible. You cannot receive a tax benefit from the charitable donation that the company makes as part of the program. You also will not receive any other type of benefit from the charity in connection with the PAC contribution or the PAC Match donation.

Matching charitable donations will be made toward the end of every calendar year.

Yes.  Any employee designated as “eligible” to contribute to the Charter Texas PAC can participate in the PAC Match program.  The Texas Ethics Commission (TEC) regulates employee PAC participation and has strict guidelines relating to PAC participation.

Contributions must be in the form of payroll deduction or check, and employees must be contributing at the “recommended levels” in order for their PAC contribution to be eligible for the PAC Match program.

Contributions to Charter Texas PAC are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.  Contributions to Charter Texas PAC are for political purposes.  All contributions to Charter Texas PAC are voluntary.  You have the right to refuse to contribute without reprisal.  Contribution recommendations are merely suggestions, and you may contribute more or less than the recommended levels. Charter Texas PAC will not favor or disadvantage anyone because of the amount they contribute or because of their decision not to contribute. State law requires us to collect and report the name, address, occupation, and employer of PAC contributors.
